Developed and delivered more than200 satellites of various types to users at home and abroad

China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation has the ability to develop various types of satellites. Since 1970, more than 200 satellites of various types have been developed and delivered to users at home and abroad, forming a series of satellites for communications, navigation, remote sensing, scientific exploration and technical testing. The technical level, application level, long life and high reliability of satellites have gradually reached the international advanced level. China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation is responsible for the development of the launch vehicle and most satellites of the Beidou Navigation Project. The Beidou system is a major national scientific and technological project decided and implemented by the Party Central Committee. The Beidou navigation satellites used in the project are mainly developed by the Fifth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group. The Long March-3A series of launch vehicles are all developed by the First Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group. Other important sub-systems are also participated by some units of the Aerospace Science and Technology Group. The project started in 1994, the construction of Beidou-1 system was completed in 2000, and the construction of Beidou-2 system was completed in 2012. With the completion of the Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system and the opening of services, it marks the decisive victory of the "three-step" development strategy of the project, and my country has become the third country in the world to independently own a global satellite navigation system. At present, more than 120 countries and regions around the world use the Beidou system. China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation undertakes the task of building a space-based system in my country's high-resolution Earth observation system. In 2013, the successful launch of the Gaofen-1 satellite marked the entry of the Gaofen project into the full-scale construction stage. With the successive launch and use of high-resolution satellites, my country's Earth remote sensing observation capabilities have been significantly improved, and satellite data are widely used in environmental protection, land and resources survey and monitoring, disaster prevention and mitigation and other fields. Around 2020, the Gaofen Project will form a stable operation system with space-time coordination, all-day, all-weather, and global observation capabilities.
