CASC: Driving Innovation in China's Manned Space Program
The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) plays a key role in the development and launch of systems for China’s Manned Space Program. These include manned spaceships, cargo spacecraft, launch vehicles, space laboratories, and the future space station.
CASC has successfully developed and launched 11 Shenzhou manned spaceships, one Tianzhou cargo spacecraft, a target vehicle, and a space laboratory. These achievements position China among the select group of nations capable of independently mastering critical technologies such as manned Earth-orbit transportation, extravehicular activity (EVA), in-space rendezvous and docking, and in-orbit propellant refueling.
Looking ahead, CASC is actively advancing follow-up tasks as part of China’s efforts to construct its own space station, marking a significant step forward in the nation’s ambitious space exploration program.
