Shanghai YIM Space Power-sources specializes in supplying solar cell products to the China Aerospace Corporation (CASC) and focuses on the design, supply, testing, and research of power sources for both space and new energy sectors. Their product offerings include power subsystems for space vehicles, solar cells, storage batteries, power control units, ground photovoltaic power generation systems, energy storage solutions, and lithium-ion batteries for new energy applications.
The company’s main product is triple-junction GaAs solar cells, which have been successfully used in a variety of high-profile space missions, including Yaogan-32, Moziji, Haiyang-2B, Beidou-42, Chang'e-4, Beidou-3 (M12), Gaofen-11 (02), and ZY-3 (03).
These solar cells are qualified for both Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellites, meeting the ECSS E ST20-08C standards for space applications. Additionally, GaAs solar cells achieved a significant milestone by successfully applying a low-orbit high-voltage 100V bus power conditioner in space vehicles for the first time in China, marking a breakthrough in space power technology.
Currently, YIM leads the triple-junction GaAs solar cells market, supported by their capacity to manufacture multiple satellite power subsystems in parallel each year. They have provided high-quality power source products and subsystem solutions to over 30 countries worldwide, establishing long-term and stable partnerships within the global space industry.

Our institute employs over 1,000 people, including more than 600 technical personnel, 60+ Ph.D. holders, and over 400 Master's degree professionals.
